Kennings in Beowulf

The objective for this lesson is to teach students what a Kenning is and how it contributes to Anglo Saxon poetry. Students will learn how to identify a Kenning in Beowulf as well as write their own. The students will use this knowledge when reading Beowulf as well as Grendel. At the end of the lesson the teacher will ask for students to share their kennings and clarify anything that the students struggled with.
