Medea on Trial

After we have read the Greek play, Medea, students write a journal to defend whether or not Medea is guilty of murder, or not guilty by reason of insanity.  After they write their responses, we divide the class up based on what position each person takes.  Those who believe she is guilty become the prosecutors; those who think she is not guilty by reason of insanity become the defendants.  Each group studies the arguments presented in the journals and begin developing a "case" for a trial.  Some in each group become the lawyers, others become char
