Marysia: the Rare Optimist

Marysia was a rare optimist in a country that decades later would be declared Most Pessimistic by a commission of the European Union-one of the few unanimous decisions made in Brussels that year-and Marysia's optimism would become invaluable as the wife of a a king-cum-cold-footed-groom-cum-partisan-cum-migrant in a country stuck smack in the middle of half a century of war both hot and cold.
