The Battler -In Our Time Illuminated Text - by Matt W. and Nick. C.
Submitted by WolfRevenant on Wed, 2012-05-09 15:22
This is our Illuminated Text on The Battler from In Our Time. This text shows the emotion interactions between Bugs, Nick, and Ad. This also touches on the racism of the time and develops Nick as a character for the rest of the book. The big thinking question (as Scotese would always say) is who in this story is really the battler.

A well recorded and well made
A well recorded and well made Illuminated Text about The Battler from In Our Time. This is a classic text, where the words are beautifully coordinated when showing animation and meanings. For example, words pertaining to the main person of the text are shown in red. The words are very well animated: those describing the environment in the story are indeed shown to look like the world itself. For example, “slope” is written on a diagonal, and “water” is colored blue. The music also fits the story with its upbeat theme. About halfway through the text, the song becomes faster and more embellished in order to show the plot increasing in pace. An interesting part of this specific text is that pictures are used for the background. I am not sure if Mr. Scotese would allow that, but I personally think that it is a great addition which helps add feeling and location to the story!
