 I have rearranged my classes this year - dropping an entire Shakespeare Play - so that we can get to some essential reading - so for the first time in many years we will actually read The French Lieutenant's Woman.  This class discussion was done by having each row concentrate on a chapter - I gave them 5 minutes to search through their chapter and prepare a question, comment, or quote.  We then went row by row and each student had a chance to ask a question or make a comment which then led to further discussion.

 One of the wonderful effects of rearranging the works we study in British Literature, is that we are actually able to (for the first time since the early 90's) get to The French Lieutenant's Woman and discuss it in class.  This is a discussion of the first 15 chapters - we go around the room - each student must have a comment, question, or quote - and each row is assigned a range of chapters.  We actually got to everyone in the room - and we had a great discussion.
